Donation Station Competition Winners

Because 2020 has been such a difficult year, it seemed appropriate to give something back to support the charities and non-profit organisations that work so hard fundraising for good causes.

The Contactless Donation Station by GWD competition was open to any UK charity, who simply needed to enter the prize draw by registering before 30th November to have a chance of winning a Contactless Donation Station.

Entry was optionally anonymous, although we did ask charities to share details of the competition across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, to help raise awareness, using the hashtag #freedonationstation.

The Winners

Due to the high number of submissions, we increased the prize draw to 5 donation stations.

The winners were as follows:

St. Mary’s is an intriguingly shaped medieval church, that has the community at the heart of everything they do. Everyone is welcome, and they run a ‘new villager’ scheme to help new residents to settle and feel at home.  They are also responsible for the Neighbourhood Care Scheme and house regular events to bring the neighbourhood together including ‘Tea @ 3’ and a village Garden Fete.

St Andrew’s Church is in the beautiful village of Spratton within the countryside of rural Northamptonshire. The support they offer to their community includes Scouts, Brownies & Guides, Explorers Football Club, Young People Group, A Tots and Toddlers group, and much more.

St Mawes is a beautiful church that overlooks the sea and is open to everyone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They work to ensure that children and adults are kept safe by working with the local community and safeguarding authorities. They have overcome the difficulties of the pandemic by moving towards a more digital approach offering video call meetings and recorded services that have been shared globally.

St Luke’s Church’s beliefs are best summed up by their motto “no matter who you are, you belong here”. They are working to create a friendly, vibrant community for people of all ages and backgrounds. They are continuing their mission in the face of the pandemic by livestreaming their services on Facebook.

Omega is a charity that helps caregivers and the bereaved to stay connected in later life and are working towards raising the standards of end of life care. They provide essential support to caregivers looking after someone with a terminal illness, people who are themselves at end of life, and those who have been bereaved.

The Donation Station by GWD

The Donation Station by GWD helps charities, hospitals, and religious organisations collect charity donations without handling cash through contactless fundraising. The smart touchscreen is an excellent conversation starter but works even when staff are not available, with eye-catching screensavers and custom branding attracting attention.

The contactless Donation Station encourages signups, memberships, and renewals. Organisations also gain a bonus 25% with Gift Aid integration.

Attract Loop

Part of the Donation Station’s key visual design features, the Attract Loop are screensavers purposefully designed to run on a loop. Created by GWD with your input, they use visuals or photography, plus an emotive call to action, to catch the donors interest and lead them towards donation through interactive storytelling.

Customisation

The entire Donation Station is open to branding, from external display to on-screen logos, photography and your brand look and feel.

Our design support service can adapt visuals and graphics to suit your brand.

Wifi or 4G/5G Data SIM

Where you need it, the Donation Station can be supplied with Data or Wifi connectivity.

If using the device in a remote location or at an event, it’s worth considering the signal strength available – GWD can support you to ensure there’s a smooth running operation on the day.

Safe & Secure

All data is transmitted with full encryption, so you can be sure that all individual donor data is safely used, in accordance with GDPR regulations.

Choice of Donations

Giving choice on where the donor wants their money to be spent empowers them further. The Donation Station asks this question and gives charities freedom to present their causes and activities as separate campaigns.

Gift Aid Up Sell

An integrated Gift Aid function on all Donation Stations helps boost fundraising a further 25%. This tax relief can be claimed from HRMC from any donor that supplies their contact details and makes a declaration, as a UK tax payer. The Donation Station is designed to encourage and secure this additional fundraising income easily, through simple reports that can be downloaded and submitted to HMRC as part of a Gift Aid claim.
